About

My name is Eddie Lee and I am currently a full-time programmer at Q-Games (Kyoto, Japan), working on the PlayStation3 PixelJunk series. I absolutely love making games and have a passion for graphics technology. I find shaders and procedurally generated geometry quite neat, as you can probably tell from my projects page.

Some of my work has been shown at various exhibitions, including GAFFTA in San Francisco and Dundee Contemporary Arts in Scotland.

During the course of my time at graduate school, I was the faculty-chosen lead programmer for all three of the team game projects. And beyond the 3D games that I develop at school, I’ve also made several Flash games on the side, one of which was recently licensed and featured by ArmorGames.

I have an Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from UCLA (Go Bruins!), with a minor in Statistics. I’ve completed my Masters in Interactive Technology (with emphasis on Software Development) during the winter of 2010. My master’s thesis involves real-time rendering of infinite fields of grass while using vector-field equations to simulate wind conditions. The research paper will be featured in the 2012 issue of Intel Visual Adrenaline magazine.

When I am not giving birth to code and binaries, I like to train/teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (purple belt, 2nd degree), play guitar/bass with friends, photograph stuff, swim, surf, draw, cook, and chill with my lady-friend from the Rising Sun. I am currently the guitarist for a Kyoto-based roots-reggae band called Resonation-I. Our music will soon be available on iTunes!

This portfolio is my little corner of the web dedicated to my feats as a game developer. It includes many of the projects and games that I’ve developed during the course of my existence. If you have any questions or just want to say konichiwa (こにちわ), feel free to shoot me an e-mail (eddie@illogictree.com).
