About

My name is Eddie Lee and I am currently a full-time graphics programmer at Q-Games (Kyoto, Japan), working on the PlayStation3 PixelJunk series. I have a deep passion for real-time graphics technology and a fascination in mending procedurally generated geometry with digital art. I enjoy seeing procedural algorithms manifest itself in groovy ways and you can see my endeavors on my projects page. For me, graphics technology is the closest thing to magic that I will ever be able to do.

Some of my work has been shown at various exhibitions around the world, including GAFFTA in San Francisco and Dundee Contemporary Arts in Scotland.

I have an Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UCLA (with a minor in Statistics). I’ve completed my Masters in Interactive Technology (with emphasis on Software Development) at SMU during the winter of 2010. My master’s thesis involves real-time rendering of infinite fields of grass while using vector-field equations to simulate wind conditions. The research paper was featured in the 2012 issue of Intel Visual Adrenaline magazine.

When I am not megaton-shotblasting code from my brain, I like to train/teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (purple belt, 2nd degree), play guitar/bass in my band, photograph stuff, swim, surf, draw, cook, and chill with my lady-friend from the Rising Sun. I was formerly the guitarist for a Kyoto-based roots-reggae band called Resonation-I and now I am the guitarist for a pretentious progressive rock band called “The Electric Bends”. Our debut album will be available soon!

This portfolio is my little corner of the web dedicated to my endeavors as a code monkey. It includes many of the projects and games that I’ve developed during the course of my existence. If you have any questions or just want to say konichiwa (こんにちわ), feel free to shoot me an e-mail (eddie@illogictree.com). Cheers!

:)
