Dark Side of the Sun
Here’s a small video of the engine I have been developing for school. I call it my Obsidian Engine because it just sounds so damn cool. The weapon of choice is C++. It uses OpenGL for rendering and SDL for windows management/input.
The red-haired protagonist shoots hearts from his soul, because he all about the love. This engine has a very basic 2D platform physics. Some smokey particle effects included.
